Robert Half is working with a well-known organisation to recruit a Regional Finance Director to be based in their Derby HQ. This role will report directly to the Regional Director, and although part of a multi-billion turnover organisation, it will feellike a Number 1 Finance role in an SME.

The position will see someone take on a finance team including over 10 Qualified Finance Professionals. With the bulk of transactional activities, and core accounting taking place at a group level, the position and team are focused on commercial financeactivities.

Some of the key responsibilities will include:

- Act as part of the senior management team, with broader responsibilities outside of finance
- Have full accountability for the financial performance of the business, having a strong control on cost
- Budgeting, Forecasting and Planning
- Improve existing processes and procedures in relation to financial control
- Act as a business partner to the Regional Director on all financial matters

The right person for this role could have come from a variety of backgrounds. It is desirable to the business that someone has worked in a large complex organisation. However, they also value the experience someone would get doing a broader role in an SME.They will want applicants to demonstrate the ability to drive change and although this is a Finance Director position, they would also appreciate someone with broader experience outside of finance.

Some of your key experiences / attributes will include:

- Accounting qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent)
- Proven ability managing / developing a team
- Commercial finance expertise - bids, tenders, contracts
- An understanding of the challenges of working in a complex organisation
- A broad skillset and ability to add value across the whole organisation, not just finance
- A salary of up to £110,000
