Job Introduction

The BBC is looking for Freelance Journalists to work in Inverness covering shifts preparing and reading local news bulletins for the Highlands and Islands. We are looking for freelance journalists with some experience, original ideas and who are comfortable working to tight deadlines.

Main Responsibilities

You’ll write and read radio news bulletins, and make informed editorial decisions.

You will be expected to work flexibly, alone and as part of a team.

**You’ll be required to work a range of shifts**: regular weekends throughout the year plus weekdays and early mornings covering staff leave, training and sickness.

We are keen to hear from applicants from a variety of backgrounds and experience. We will support you in developing and honing the skills required for the role.
