Production Operative

gap personnel (operating as an employment business) are currently looking for Production Operatives to join a busy team in a well-established client based in Port Talbot.
Our client is a busy, heavy industrial company distributing its product worldwide. As such, they are looking to add new members of staff to their team. This role requires a high level of attention, accuracy and a previous working history in heavy industrial/manufacturing.
**Salary**: During the training period hourly rate will be £10.23 for days and £12.84 if you will be placed on the 12 hour shift pattern.
After you complete the training period (12 Weeks) hourly rate will raise to £10.55 for days and £13.24 if you are on shifts.
**Shifts**:Days will be either 7am-3pm or 8am-4pm, shifts will be 4 on 4 off 12 hours.
- Have at least 6 months experience in a similar role
- Be able to work in a heavy duty environment
- Have experience in using machinery
- Provide flexible machine manning directed by the Production Coordinator / Team Leader
- Liaise with Team leader / Production Coordinator to ensure customer satisfaction
- Ensure that production targets are met and performance complies with company quality, environmental and safety policies at the Port Talbot plant
- Ensure pre shift checks are carried out and recorded
- Lead safety by personal example
- Raise housekeeping standards to departmental standards
- Create and implement 5s and build a sustainable system
- Submit and ensure close out of hazard forms
- Reduce LWD and recordable injuries
