Orka Financial is working with a multi-site retail business to recruit a Finance business partner role that will focus around the inventory and supply chain of the business. This is a newly created role with the primary aim to build relationships acrossmultiple operational stakeholders; with focus on planning, accounting, process and working capital improvements. The role requires both accounting skillset and business partnering with key stakeholders across the Commercial & Operational teams.

**Responsibilities**:

- Inventory accounting under UK GAAP accounting standard
- Develop and maintain internal controls / policies including SOX control documentation
- Monthly Inventory close incl. revaluation, manufacturing/freight absorption, multi-currency, stock provisioning; plus, ownership of inventory ledger
- Guidance on accounting issues to key stakeholders; identifying risks and process/efficiency improvements
- Understanding bill of material, consumption of raw material, overhead and variable costings and subsequent production and finished product (own manufactured and third-party product)
- Design and preparation of reports to support insights and improvements in quality
- Identifying and managing risk & opportunity; understanding of key variances and drivers
- Preparation of inventory budgets with Commercial leads; challenging stakeholders to optimise inventory held
- Support/scope/production of systemic developments to drive simplification and automation of process
- Provide support to internal & external audits

**Profile**:

- Part-Qualified to Qualified ACCA, CIMA or ACA with commercial acumen and process savvy
- Proven accounting experience and planning/organising/time management skills - manage tight deadlines
- Advanced MS excel skills are essential, other analytical packages and training available
- Highly motivated, self-starter, capable of working on own initiative; as individual or part of a team
- Retail industry/FMCG experience is sought after; ability to work in fast paced environment
- Professional communication skills and ability to build strong relationships across operational stakeholders

**Salary**:
£50,000 - £60,000 + bonus + benefits
