A Global Safety and Security Centre (GSSC) Supervisor will have the responsibility to protect the associates, assets and brand of TJX Europe by monitoring both the European estate and Global events that may impact the organisation.
Reporting to the GSSC Manager the role will involve working closely to ensure the smooth running of the operation. Being the first line of escalation, the supervisor will be required to make operational decisions and ensure the operation runs in line with SOP’s.
The role will entail responding to multiple incidents as they occur, following the agreed processes to both resolve and appropriately escalate those incidents and mitigate any losses to TJXE. This is a critical role and will be visible across the whole of TJX.
The operation will be 24/7/365 and so working nights, weekends and public holidays is essential as is a flexibility and a willingness to change and work additional shifts.
Given the nature of the role, you will operate with appropriate levels of discretion and offer timely and assuring updates to the GSSC Manager. You may be required to present findings, make recommendations and help influence outcomes.
This is a role that requires a hands-on approach, an agile approach to learning new skills and keeping up to date with new technology and responsibilities as the remit of the GSSC expands. You will provide support, coach and develop others within the organisation to understand and mitigate the risk to the organisation.
Due to the 12 hour shifts and 4 on 4 off rotation the role requires supervisors to live within 30 miles or 1 hour’s commute of Watford to support the welfare of all GSSC associates.
**Key Responsibilities**:
The main duties to be completed within the role of GSSC Supervisor include but not limited to the following:
- Supervision of specialists on shift
- Responsible for and supervision of all control room operations including manning phone lines, CCTV monitoring and review, Alarm monitoring, Incident monitoring, Key control, FEH security and other assigned tasks
- Effective and accurate management and prioritisation of alarm activations across a variety of platforms in accordance with procedure across the European estate and International Buying Offices
- Direct communication with law enforcement agencies and fire authorities to ensure the protection of the European Estate and International Buying Offices
- Monitor risk intelligence software, social media platforms and News media to identify incidents occurring globally that may have an impact on the associates, assets and brand of TJX Europe
- Respond to incidents identified, contacting those who may be affected and offering support to those in need
- Escalate incidents appropriately that have a direct impact on the associates, assets and brand of TJX Europe
- Deal with all major incidents offering a communications hub for the command, control and crisis management teams
- Ensure that all incidents are dealt with and logged in accordance with procedures
- Ensure the safety & security of associates on Campus through effective partnership with site security
- Ensure that all staff, visitors and contractors understand their safety and security obligations while in the GSSC
- Be open and willing to undertake new training across GSCC functions to ensure the organisation has the ability to manage workload demands by redeployment of staff as necessary to business requirements
- Carry out internal and external investigations
- Identification and escalation of fraudulent activity using data sources
- Maintain good levels of knowledge for additional legislation around privacy in other European countries. For example, Works Council privacy requirements in Germany, Poland, Austria and the Netherlands
- Escalate Loss Prevention related privacy concerns to line manager and Privacy team
- Ensure training and education needs are identified and met for all relevant associates
- Prioritises effective use of training and education programmes with business partners
- Is an ambassador of change and role models the company values to foster the right culture
- Partners to ensure effective and clear communication at all levels within business area. Ensures priorities are shared with wider business
- Builds effective partnership in business area to influence behaviours and drive performance. Displays partnering skills within the wider business and the building of a network in other business areas
- Partners to influence the performance and behaviour of partners, associates, management and other teams in business area as well as external third party vendors
