Do you have excellent DIY skills? Are you looking for a new career path where you can use these skills? We have an exciting opportunity to join Hillarys as an Awnings Installer Crew mate based in the **Romford, Ilford and Dartford area**.

Hillarys has over 50 years’ experience of manufacturing and installing the best quality made-to-measure awnings, blinds and shutters across the country. Hillarys is part of the Hunter Douglas group, so you’ll be assisting with the installation of Awnings across multiple brands. As Awnings Installer Crew Mate, you’ll be co-ordinating the fitting of our made-to-measure Awnings alongside the lead installer across the South-East region, ensuring all of our products are fitted to best practice and within service level agreed timeframes. You’ll be conducting pre-fit installation surveys, checking order details and taking accurate measurements, whilst being a practical problem solver to look for solutions to help the Awning fit correctly.

Great customer service skills and experience in dealing with customers are a must, as you’ll be visiting customers’ homes for both the survey and fitting of the Awning. Understanding of technical devices is desirable, as all our Awnings are powered by SOMFY, which you’ll be assisting in the installation of, as well as heating and lighting upgrades too.

You’ll also have the opportunity to work cross-functionally and diversify your hands-on skill set with other areas of the business from time-to-time, assisting with blinds and shutters product surveys and fits, as you’ll be part of the Special Products Installation team.

**Awnings Installation Crew Mate - General requirements**:

- The flexibility to cover a large area and cope with the seasonality of demand
- There may be a requirement for occasional overnight stays
- The ability to plan and diarise your survey and installation activities
- The job will require you to work outside in variable weather conditions
- Commitment to providing great customer service
- Full UK Driving License

A practical background and competency using power tools is essential for this role, and you’ll be provided with intensive training in-house and in the field, alongside Health and Safety and First Aid training.
