**Job Overview**

Working hours are 8:30-3:30 between Monday to Friday and term time only.

You will also need to be educated to at least A-level and undergo a short cover supervisor course before taking on work. Unless you have a HLTA qualification or previous cover supervisor training.

**Duties**
- Supervise and manage classroom activities in the absence of the regular teacher.
- Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans while ensuring that students remain engaged and focused.
- Communicate effectively with students to foster a supportive learning environment.
- Provide support to students with special educational needs, including those on the autism spectrum.
- Mentor and tutor students, offering additional assistance as required to help them achieve their academic goals.
- Maintain discipline within the classroom and implement school policies effectively.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with students and staff.
- Experience or knowledge in special education practices is highly desirable but not essential.
- Familiarity with tutoring techniques and mentoring approaches to support student learning.
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with young people.
- Flexibility to adapt to different classroom environments and student needs.
