An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to join our dedicated paediatric Radiology Department who would like to develop and grow their Leadership and Management in the NHS.
You will be joining our flexible and welcoming paediatric department encompassing 3 general x-ray rooms, DEXA, EOS, CT and Spect CT, intra-operative 3T and 1.5T MRI, theatre and mobile imaging. The x-ray department supports a range of specialities including neurosurgery, oncology, abdominal, vascular, forensic and musculo-skeletal work.
As a specialist tertiary care, trauma children’s hospital trust, we provide a full range of medical, surgical and mental health services for the paediatric residents of Sheffield and South Yorkshire as well as specialised services for patients from further afield.

You will work as part of the radiology management team to provide a high quality, responsive diagnostic service to children in Sheffield, South Yorkshire and the surrounding areas.
You will be required to demonstrate professional and clinical leadership in X-ray and CT ensuring the optimum use of staffing and equipment resources to promote mínimal variance in approach and ensure the ongoing provision of a high quality, paediatric patient focused imaging service.
You will demonstrate expertise and provide leadership for major trauma and CT radiography within this highly specialist imaging area, acting as an experienced resource for staff both internal and external to Radiology.
You will ensure that all radiographers are trained and have confidence in performing more complex and highly specialised examinations, including the administration of IV contrast agents
There is also a requirement after an initial training period to participate in the provision of standby on-call from home on a rotational basis.

To demonstrate professional and clinical leadership in X-ray and CT ensuring the optimum use of staffing and equipment resources to promote mínimal variance in approach and ensure the ongoing provision of a high quality, paediatric patient focused imaging service.
To take a lead in delivering education, training and practice development within the X-ray imaging area.
To act as an expert supporting all clinical staff, to ensure all specialised paediatric examinations, using a variety of radiographic imaging modalities, are performed within current Ionising Radiation Regulations (IRR17), in adherence to Ionising Radiation Medical Exposure Regulation (IR(ME)R17) and with particular regard to maintaining an appropriate atmosphere for children in hospital.
To deputise in the absence of the X-ray Imaging Lead, leading and managing the X-ray team in the provision of excellent standards of paediatric imaging and performance in all areas, building relationships to support role development.
