An opportunity has arisen for the post of Senior Network Specialist - Wireless within the Network team which is part of the Digital Services department of Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. The Trust has an ambitious strategy to use Information and Communications Technologies to radically change the way it delivers its services to patients. This includes the need to enable clinicians to use electronic patient records all the time when they see, diagnose, review, treat and communicate with or about patients regardless of who owns the building or site they are working from. In addition, the Trust has heavily invested in adopting M365 and Azure cloud services.

A key element in supporting this strategy is connectivity of ICT networks within the region across multiple NHS and local authority organisations. Therefore, it is essential that the Trust's infrastructure meets the requirement to be “always on” and provide a safe, secure network environment.

The Trust’s current data, voice and wireless network covers over 100 sites located in Nottinghamshire with sites also in South Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire.

The Trust operates a Cisco based wireless platform, so proven experience of management and support of an Enterprise Wireless environment is essential and Cisco a distinct advantage.

As any technology advances, you will need to have a keen interest in developing these systems to support the Trust’s IT estate.

The Digital services department provides Out of hours support to the Trust and the Network Team members are required to be part of this.

Please note, a full UK driving license and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.

The Senior Network Specialist - Wireless role will require you to:
