**The Job**:
Cherwell District Council are committed to being a district of opportunity and promoting safe and healthy communities. Central to these priorities is the work of the Health Protection and Compliance team. An opportunity has arisen for a motivated, enthusiastic, and committed person to join our busy but friendly Health Protection and Compliance Team.
We are looking for a part-time, 33 hours per week, Environmental Health Officer to undertake duties within the Health Protection and Compliance Team. The Team covers Environmental Health activities, including Public Health, Food Safety, Health and Safety, Animal Welfare, Infectious diseases and Private Water Supplies. For this role you must have current practical experience of food safety enforcement and inspection.
**The Person**:
You must be an enthusiastic, well-motivated individual who has a passion for delivering exceptional service for all residents and businesses of the district. Working as part of an experienced, tight-knit team you will inspect, enforce and advise on a wide range of environmental health disciplines including food safety, health and safety, public health, communicable disease control and assorted licensing duties - animal activities, caravan sites and skin piercing. You will manage your own varied caseload of both proactive interventions, including food hygiene inspections, and reactive service requests and will also participate in food and water sampling as required.
