Our client, a leading car manufacturer are currently looking for a Cosmetic Technician to join their luxury BMW dealership in Trafford. We are looking for an experienced Cosmetic Technician from either a main dealer or independent environment to join our client's leading and well-established brand. To qualify for this role you must be confident in your own ability and have experience with any type of smart or cosmetic repair on cars, from either a main dealer or independent garage. About the Role - To carry out work "Cosmetic Repairs" provided to you, or obtained by your efforts, competently and within the times laid down by the manufacturer, Audatex times or to times acceptable and issued to you by the workshop controller/estimator - To prepare and paint various components of a vehicle, bumper sections, wheels, door mirror covers etc - To maintain and add to as required a good colour library in relation to the "Cosmetic Repairs" paint products in use - To repair trims of various material types' cloth, leather and plastic using the "Cosmetic Repair" techniques and equipment provided - To repair windscreen chips using the recognized equipment supplied along with the necessary consumables to affect an efficient and safe repair - You must carry out a spray out for comparison when any doubt arises over the colour match of the paintwork you are undertaking, especially before painting a vehicle for the second time - To advise the workshop controller/estimator, or line Manager of any additional work necessary on a vehicle before continuing - To ensure your place of work, ie work bay, is kept clean and tidy at all times in line with health & safety, and company requirements, clean your mess as you go - To ensure the correct use of all necessary and issued PPE, as and when required to maintain yours, and your colleagues, health and safety at work - To never paint outside of the prescribed areas, ie the paint booths equipment to help maintain good health and safety of you and your colleagues - To make full use of special tools, and training as provided, to improve customer service levels and workshop efficiency - To participate in in-house training and development - To ensure that the company's computerised time recording system EMACS is used in the prescribed manner - As part of your roll you must be prepared to help and assist with the movement of vehicles, within the company premises - Not to divulge or issue any customer or technical information to anyone other than an employee of the company - Not to take, or fail to take, any actions that could endanger the continuance of the BMW Retailer Agreement, or any approvals of work providers - To follow departmental procedures and instructions, to be responsible for the quality of your work, and pass over requirements of your job to and from each of the skills. No work should be accepted in or leave your area that is not to the required standards About You - Experience working as a Cosmetic Technician - Have excellent customer service skills - Hold a full UK driving licence - Have a desire to succeed - Thrive under pressure - Work well within a team and have an excellent work ethic What's next?
