The Oxfordshire Community Children's Nursing team provide vital support to children from birth to 18 years with complex nursing needs across the county. The children on our caseload have a variety of chronic and acute conditions and require nursing support such as enteral feeding, long term ventilation and symptom management. The support we provide includes empowering families to care for their child's health needs at home, providing respite sessions, delivering acute and palliative care outside of the hospital environment, and supporting children at school. We are commissioned to provide all of these services within each of our four localities.
This varied role will support all aspects of the service including respite care to the children and young people in their homes and schools.
You will work autonomously to deliver and plan respite care so that the child or young person’s health needs are safely managed.
As a healthcare assistant you will be acting as an advocate, reporting any safeguarding concerns, identifying changes in the child’s or young person’s condition and escalating appropriately.
Within this role you will be given appropriate training for delegated health care tasks such as enteral feeding, wound care and symptom management.

This role is based at Northway Community Centre, Oxford however, we offer a county wide service and travel to other areas/bases is required on a regular basis.
Our core service hours are between 08.00-20.00, 7 days a week, working 7.5 contracted hours as a shift pattern, which may include weekends and bank holidays. This role is for 22.5 - 37.5 hours per week (flexible working options considered).
