Press Setter Operator

All of the parts we produce can be manufactured to any size, length, thickness and specification. Many of our products can also be supplied with self-adhesive backing to aid in third hand fixing.

**_Duties and Responsibilities: _**

You will work within a section comprised of three 15-20 tonne auto power presses (Sweeney & Blockside, Brooks Electric and Worcester Auto) setting up, running and monitoring the machines.

The machines use male/female tools, die setted tools, cut on block tools requiring materials in coils and strips to be processed with some material joining required.

Prior to setting the machine, evaluate the best / quickest production speed / capacity.

Set the machine, checking sizes to job card as a first-off inspection and sign the job card accordingly. Pay close attention to the drawing, if applicable, including specific instructions and tolerances.

Prioritise workload by date order, including those cards awaiting tooling or material.

Ensure the material issued meets the specification on the job card and the correct amount of material has been allocated and prepared. Note any special instructions on the job card

Check the prepared material to the job card (finish, thickness, grade etc) and select correct machine, blades, rollers and spacers as per the job card

Produce the parts, while completing in-process inspection and keeping quality and production speed as a priority.

Accurately gather cutting speed information for estimating to calculate costings and timings

Once the run / order is complete, ensure you get a last off-inspection and the job card signed-off

While reporting directly to the Workshop Foreman and Workshop Manager you will be responsible for all of the daily requirements and executions within your job description.

You will need experience in a similar role and must be able to set and operate press machines to manufacture components as set by the company.

To perform the accurate settings of presses ensuring optimum speeds are maintained ensuring the safety of operatives and tooling.

Check components, before/during and after try-outs/production runs using the appropriate inspection equipment/gauges.

Operate presses following processes set by the company whilst maintain the required level of output at all times.

About you:

- ROSPA certified for Power Press Machines, had but expired training accepted or willing to train towards
- Previous experience setting machinery and presses
- Looking for an ongoing position
- Can start work immediately

Shifts are as follows: Monday - Friday 08:30 - 17:00 with unpaid lunchbreak of 30 minutes.

**Experience**:

- Press Setting: 1-2 years (preferred)

The role will start with an initial 12 week/3 month probationary period with monthly reviews.
