**The Role**

Reporting to the Head of Operational Excellence, you will build and lead Roke Excellence System consisting of the end-to-end Roke Business Management System. You will champion initiatives focused on driving excellence, value and growth by ensuring the end-to-end business operating system is fit for purpose, scalable and delivers right first time. You will work closely with our business units and business services functions to maximise the flow by identifying and removing waste and supporting the development of a lean business system.

You will work with a broad range of world class technical specialists in fields such as electronic warfare, cybersecurity, and sensors. You will support a range of complex and challenging technical programmes within a dynamic, exciting and highly rewarding environment.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Working with the Head of Operational Excellence you will manage and develop the Roke Excellence system into a fit for purpose, scalable and right-sized operating system to enable sustainable growth.
- Responsible for defining and improving end-to-end business system from strategy development through bidding to cash process.
- Be responsible for supporting internal and external audits of the Roke Excellence System (e.g., ISO9001, ISO27001) and incorporating findings into improved processes.
- Coaching and mentoring for Operational Excellence team and Roke excellence champions.
- Incorporate industry best practice, automation and simplification to Roke’s Excellence system ensuring all standard operating procedures are supporting day-to-day operations efficiently.
- Champion continuous improvement - lead simultaneous and progressively complex business management system improvement projects.
- Manage and develop a risk-based approach to assuring excellence at all levels of the business, work across functions to enable capture of risk and analyse trends to support business improvement.
- Define and deploy governance frameworks to support the decentralised/hybrid quality excellence model.
- Work with the business leadership and process owners to define effective KPI’s and action plans to drive process improvement.
- Identify and manage Roke Excellence System training needs for the organisation, developing and empowering staff to lead quality improvement initiatives.
- Always fully comply with Roke’s policies and procedures.
- Undertake such other reasonable duties, commensurate with the job holder’s experience and qualifications, as may be required for the smooth operation of the business.

**Essential**
- Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt with experience of leading multiple DMAIC improvement projects leading to sustained measurable improvements.
- Experience of leading excellence in Defence, National Security, or similar industry.
- Experience in business process redesign and Lean Six Sigma methodologies applied to an excellence environment.
- Ability to inspire, motivate and coach the excellence community across the business.
- Experience planning, leading, and participating in Kaizen/Rapid improvement events.
- Practical experience leading quality within a design or New Product Introduction (NPI) process.
- Well-developed influence and engagement skills. Communicates with ease across all levels of the business.
- ISO9001 auditing experience/qualifications.

**Desirable**
- Trained/certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.
- Change advocate with a track record of delivery of end-to-end business system transformation.
- Experience of Mentoring Lean Six Sigma Green Belts in quality/improvement projects.
- Experience developing training material and leading training workshops to drive awareness of process changes.
- Experience managing using QPulse and knowledge of Minitab is highly desirable.
