Senior Videographer

As the largest producer of independent statistics, at the Office for National Statistics (ONS) we’re expanding our Design team, a core part of the Communications Division, to take our visual storytelling to a new level with the appointment of two talented videographers.

The team will provide an end-to-end video production service to the ONS, identifying and prioritising opportunities to make an impact with video, motion graphics, animation and photo content through our internal comms and external channels.

Working alongside the graphic designers and Campaigns team and reporting to the Head of Graphic Design, this role will define a new standard of high-quality content, demonstrating our values and telling meaningful stories informed by data.

**Essential Criteria**:

- Understanding and appreciation of the role video and animation can play as part of wider communications strategies to achieve tangible results
- A strong track record of directing and producing corporate videos and animated products for both internal and external audiences
- Experience of managing a production calendar, including providing consultancy on whether video or animation will add value or help to meet a communications objective
- Strong storyboarding and scripting skills for both video and animation products, including experience of developing comprehensive shot lists
- Experience of briefing interviewees and directing live video shoots to ensue re succinct content is captured efficiently
- Experience of providing quality control in post-production so finished products are on brand, meet accessibility requirements and produced to a consistently high standard
- Experience of customer-handling, keeping commissioners up to date on progress and managing expectations
- Working knowledge of camera operation and editing
