**Purpose of Role**:
Support the Technical Underwriting Manager to deliver the business plan by providing Technical and Analytical expertise as defined in the Key Accountabilities below.

**Key Role Accountabilities**:

- Development of underwriting for new scheme and product builds.
- Assist with enhancement of underwriting rules for all schemes.
- Support scheme testing of new developments and scheme changes.
- Ensure efficiency of processes and recommendation for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with Governance standards.
- Responsibility for the testing & licencing of all Operational & Technical Underwriters.
- Development and maintenance of underwriting guides for capacity and delegated brokers.
- Work collaboratively with Pricing, Governance and Business Systems to ensure Underwriting objectives are met and performance meets capacity binder targets for allocated accounts.
- Liaise with the senior management team and capacity as required.
- Providing Technical Underwriting Support to the Operational Teams for referrals, complaints & voidances.
- Assist the Audit team with Capacity and Broker audits as required.
- Identification of validation errors and EDI/import failures - reporting to IT teams and Operational Underwriters.

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- Insurance market product knowledge for Private Car & Van.
- Technical underwriting understanding of policy wordings and endorsements.
- Good understanding of impact assessment on performance and quotability on underwriting decisions.
- Understanding of distribution models.
- IT Skills: Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, Access
