DevOps Engineer Required, Cardiff

Role: DevOps engineer.
**Salary**: £75,000 - £80,000
Location: Cardiff for 2 days a month onsite ( or more if you prefer)
Supporting an expanding manufacturing and engineering business, with offices in Cardiff and operations ongoing globally, we are looking for a DevOps engineer.
**Skills, Experiences and Qualities Objectives of this Role**:
- Implementing the companies core product within in-country, purpose-built datacentres (remote & on-site).
- Understanding the deployment process and feeding back to Architecture/Development teams for product improvements.
- Working on ways to automate and improve the deployment process within the Delivery department.
- Testing and examining code/scripts written by others and analysing results.
- Ensuring platforms are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats.
- Identifying technical problems and developing software updates and fixes alongside Architecture/Development teams.
- Working with software developers/testers to ensure that code follows established processes and works as intended.
- Planning projects alongside peers and being involved in project management decisions.
- Upskill and mentor the support function within the business.
**Responsibilities**:
- Deploy specialist software as part of an overall project deliverable alongside Infrastructure/Network engineers either in[1]country or remotely.
- Provide end-to-end updates and fixes to specialist software either in-country or remotely.
- Build/evolve tools to reduce occurrence of errors and improve stability of the product.
- Develop software to integrate with already existing support tools/platforms.
- Perform root cause analysis of production errors and resolve technical issues.
- Develop/further enhance scripts to automate deployment
- Document tools/standard operating procedures/deployments to a high standard.
- Provide cover to the support function for absence/annual leave.
**Required Skills and Qualifications**:
- Previous experience as a DevOps engineer or similar SoftwareEngineering role.
- Expert Working knowledge of Linux (Ubuntu/Red Hat) in an enterprise environment.
- Proven proficiency with Docker/Kubernetes and associated
- Good knowledge of Bash/KornShell/SQL/Python/JSON/YAML/XML.
- Working knowledge of databases deployed on a Linux platform
(Maria/Cockroach).
- Working knowledge of message queues and associated technologies (Rabbit).
- Working knowledge of Ansible/Chef/Puppet.
- Working knowledge of Grafana and the development of
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to work with people from all backgrounds and cultures.
**Desirable Skills and Qualifications**:
- 3 - 5 Years’ Experience in a similar role.
- Bachelor of Science Degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a specialism.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure technologies (Hypervisors/Storage).
- Knowledge of Network technologies (Switching/Routing/Firewalls).
- DCA Certification (Docker Certified Associate).
- AZ-104 Certification.
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer.
- ITILv4 Foundation Certification.
- ISO 27001 Foundation Certification.
- Knowledge of Cyber Essentials + or equivalent framework.
- Knowledge of working in an ITIL environment.
- CompTIA Linux+
- RHCSA
