You will be primarily responsible for traveling regularly to different locations maintaining and repairing generators varying from 20kva to 1250kva and various other equipment within the clients' range, providing onsite service to the customer.
This is a field-based role covering the Midlands region, where you'll be tasked with the following:
- Liaising with clients and ensuring the jobs are completed to their satisfaction
- Carrying out minor and major services to diesel engine generator sets at customer sites
- Installation and disconnection of equipment on site. (synchronising where appropriate)
The standard working hours for this role are Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- **What experience do I need?**
My client wants someone who's got a background in maintaining and repairing generators.
They'll also need you to have experience of fault-finding and working in a fast-paced environment.
In addition, you'll need the following:
- A City & Guilds qualification in an engineering discipline
- A 2391 qualification or certified
- Good communication skills and work ethic
- Recognised manufacturer training courses relevant to generators
You'll also need to be the following:
- Able to handle objections in a professional manner
- Able to promote teamwork and co-operation at all times, both within individual depots and right across the entire company
- Able to provide other engineers with technical support in relation to mechanical and electrical works

This Generator Engineer position offers an attractive basic salary of up to £34,000 per annum. You also have the ability to earn overtime in this role.

In this position, you'll be needed to work some weekends, as well as occasionally working shifts and covering on-call in unsociable hours.
There is an on call of 1 in 4 which has a standby rate of £200.
