**Hours**:42.5 Hours Per Week, Monday to Friday.

**Times**:9:00am to 6:00pm.

**The Role**:
We are seeking a multi-skilled individual to take on the role of a Yard Operative, to assist with the daily operational needs of the business and have a positive impact on the site ensuring that all activities are conducted in a safe and compliant manner at all times.
- Ensure high levels of Health, Safety and Environmental practice with a duty of care to yourself and others.
- Ensuring all drivers/ Contractors have the correct PPE whilst working on the site.
- Oversee and facilitating the needs of the business by ensuring all traffic into and leaving site is dealt with in an appropriate and safe conduct, advising on where to park vehicles to be loaded/ unloaded or waiting for disposal / collection.
- Liaising with the site manager to communicate tank levels to appropriately schedule or divert incoming loads daily through the waste team.
- Assisting with the general safe unloading and loading of waste, pallets, dolav bins or equipment & parts.
- General housekeeping duties around the site to a high standard including but not limited to jet washing, litter picking, emptying skips (grit), arranging pallet storage areas, ensuring that work areas are always kept clean and tidy.
- Pre-shift checks on machinery prior to use and the accurate reporting of any defective machinery to the site manager.
- Lab testing will be required for site samples and sampling of any individual liquid loads that need to be determined on their disposal point (effluent tank or pulp tank).
- Safely manage waste deliveries and quality thereof, paying particular attention to liquid deliveries and ensuring the correct tanks for disposal.
- On occasion there may be the requirement to assist the operational team to cover any sickness or holiday’s which may leave that specific area understaffed during busy periods of the working day.
- Assist with the engineering department if required for any upcoming preventative maintenance or breakdowns or in the event of sickness & absence.
- Report any observations (Environmental, Health & Safety), accidents and near misses in the correct format to the plant manager in good time.
- Working within company values and best practices
- Operate the facility in line with policy and procedure.
- Keeping the facility clean and tidy at all times.

**Qualifications and Skills**
- Must be able to work outside
- Must be willing to work with food waste
- Operations experience preferred but not essential
- Ability to work with computers and technology.

**Salary**: £27,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
