Associate Director

**The opportunity - Associate Director - Risk - Plymouth** **Project**: A strategic infrastructure program where Mace has been appointed as one of the delivery partners to provide expertise in managing and delivering key infrastructure projects by bringing specialist skills to support the client's programme of infrastructure improvements. We are hiring an ambitious and forward thinking Associate Director - Risk, preferably with defence and nuclear experience to join our established and diverse team. The role will be the recognised lead for project controls reporting of medium to high complexity projects or programmes. The role will direct and manage a team of professionals delivering project controls services and be responsible for staff development. The role will be responsible for ensuring effective and efficient use of Power BI and associated products. **Your responsibilities will include**: - Implement the Risk and Opportunity Management processes in accordance with the company management systems - Prepare robust tender and contract risk models using the designated risk management tool - Day to day responsibility for the development and accuracy of the risk plan and the cost model - Maintenance and presentation of the Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for Risk, Schedule, Relationship and Cost, along with lessons learned and action plan for missed milestones - Day to day responsibility for the delivery of information and equipment in line with the agreed customer requirements (scope) - Co-ordination of risk reviews, progress reviews and performance metrics - Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to identify risks and opportunities at an early stage in the project life cycle - Agree key issues, and Risks and Opportunities for escalation with the relevant stakeholders - Presentation of risk profile and risk drawdown to the relevant project Boards and JV Boards - Creation of reports and visual management dashboard for internal and external stakeholders - Presenting change approvals to the relevant project Boards and JV Boards - Ensure that the risks are being appropriately discharged and that the projects are managing the release of Estimating Uncertainty and Discrete Risk - Support the PM to manage the risk and opportunities associated with the project / programme - Include appropriate financial data to produce a project cost/time distribution profile and communicate the results to the project team - Produce project reports/data - Understand and report on project using Earned Value Analysis techniques and interpret/communicate the results and any corrective action to the project team - Ensure an appropriate risk model is adequately and fully documented for all bids in accordance with the "Win Business" process - Produce risk models that satisfy contractual requirements incl. NEC3 - All programmes and documentation to be produced in compliance with company processes and procedures - Manage a portfolio of project programmes and supporting Risk Analysts/Junior Risk Analysts Engineers including supervision and checking of work to ensure that all work complies with company standards and procedures - Act as mentor to Junior Risk members to assist in their personal development - Assist in annual performance objectives setting and performance appraisals with direct reports where required in accordance with the company HR policy, process and procedure - To work to an open and honest risk and opportunity culture - Development of a quality approach and a regime of continuous improvement to ensure that "best practice techniques" are implemented as outlined within ISO 31000 Risk Management, the APM " Body of Knowledge", and the Nuclear National Skills Academy - Support and Deputise for the Risk Manager as and when required
