If so, we have two Deputy Director posts in the financial Management & Partnering Directorate.
We support the business to develop credible multi-year plans that deliver business objectives, supported by robust financial forecasts. We also work with the business to ensure that financial matters are considered in long-term policy and service delivery decisions. FM&P for Change and Resilience Group and FM&P for People Capability and Place Group provide support for some of DWP’s most complex and high profile transformation programmes. The Divisions are friendly and supportive, with colleagues based across a range of finance hubs.
**Job description**:
We have two Deputy Director posts which are outlined below:
**Deputy Director Financial Management and Partnering (Change and Resilience Group)**
This role ensures that programmes within the Change and Resilience Group live within budget and that financial implications of proposals and business cases are fully considered as part of DWP’s overall business strategy. The Group is responsible for delivering the Department’s most complex transformation programmes.
**Deputy Director Financial Management and Partnering (People Capability and Place)**
This role ensures that PC&P Group live within budget and that financial implications of proposals and business cases are fully considered as part of DWP’s overall business strategy. The Group covers corporate functions of HR and Estates and therefore touches the lives of each of DWP’s 90,000 employees.
**Person specification**:
We are looking for someone who has:
- The ability to lead, motivate and develop a diverse finance team with enthusiasm, passion and confidence, and promote excellence.
- The ability to influence and make positive impacts at highest levels through excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including by building and maintaining networks and relationships. Stakeholders include colleagues across Change and Resilience Group, Finance Group, People Capability & Place, Policy and HMT.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to put complex financial issues into layman’s terms for non-specialist audiences.
- Strong financial and analytical ability.
- The ability to collaborate and seek constructive outcomes in discussions, balancing a firm stance with a willingness to compromise when beneficial to the operation.
- An enthusiasm to seek out opportunities to continuously improve the Business partnering and financial management service provided to our customers.
