JOB PURPOSE As Senior Quality Place Lead you will support the Deputy Director of Nursing & Quality and DCNO Deputy Chief Nurse Officer by providing senior leadership at place level for the oversight of quality, driving quality data driven improvements in collaboration with partners which will have a positive impact on population health needs in Dorset. Key Accountabilities Quality To work with the Deputy Director of Nursing & Quality, Head of Patient Safety and Deputy Chief Nursing Officer on formulation of strategy, policy, and delivery of Quality Standards. By providing senior leadership and management within a place-based model across the Dorset system in the development and implementation of the ICP strategy and five-year joint forward plan. The post holder will be based within a designate place are in Dorset either BCP or Dorset council footprint and will be based within provider organsiations promoting visibility and collaboration in a define place-based area.
The role will support the process of commissioning, procurement, quality assurance and contracting to ensure that NHS Dorset complies with statutory duties. The post holder will be required to deputise for the Deputy Director of Nursing & Quality as required and will lead on specified areas of quality improvement across Dorset as defined by the ICB Operational plan. To take leadership responsibility for oversight of quality performance improvement and management in services across a defined place-based area in Dorset including acute, community and primary care which may include leadership responsibility for place-based projects for service improvement and change implementation to commissioned services in response to policy initiatives and analysis of information. To take leadership responsibility for the workstreams arising from the place-based quality groups in Dorset and to ensure that all elements of quality and safety are considered and addressed.
Patient Safety To support NHS Dorset in the management and implementation of PSIRF and LFPSE across Dorset providers in the ICS The post holder will work closely in place-based partner organisations to provide assurance regarding the safety of services across health and social care in Dorset, by being based within the place areas in Dorset ICS of BCP and Dorset. The role holder will work as a senior clinical leader demonstrating strong, autonomous leadership across the Directorate, organisation, and system level, facilitating, and supporting patient safety and quality assurance and improvement. POST SPECIFIC, TASKS AND OBJECTIVES Building Trusted relationships with partners and communities To provide leadership responses to changing national policy in respect of quality and safety matters on behalf of NHS Dorset in partnership with colleagues within the ICS, which may include providing expert advice on quality improvement plans for the quality assurance processes for services in Dorset. To support the management, in conjunction with the Deputy Director of Nursing & Quality, Head of Patient Safety and Deputy Chief Nursing Officer, of services commissioned by NHS Dorset in accordance with the national performance management and quality frameworks.
To provide reports to NHS Dorset's governance committees, groups and supporting mechanisms, ensuring that all clinical governance and quality issues are appropriately reported and coordinated. Driving High quality Sustainable outcomes To work with colleagues in Commissioning and Public Health, Information Analysts and Clinical Groups to analyse issues arising from data and external benchmarking to inform and drive quality improvement in clinical practice in Dorset place. To collaborate with system partners for the development of quality indicators in line with best practice and implement their use to improve the quality of commissioned services in Dorset. To identify and develop the strategic plan for Directorate/Place projects, identifying interdependencies across projects/functions, potential impacts on wider organisation, resource requirements and building in contingency and adjustments as necessary.

Creating a compassionate and inclusive culture To provide, receive, manage, and analyse highly complex, sometimes sensitive and /or contentious, information with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to achieve service outcomes. To be a visible leader by nurturing key relationships and maintain networks internally and externally, including national networks as defined in the Dorset ICP Strategy. The post holder will build close relationships with providers in the defined place-based area in Dorset by being visibly based within the system developing collaborative relationships across the system.
