An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic, reliable and committed individual to join the Clinical Neurophysiology team as a Support Secretary based at Hertford County Hospital.
As a member of the team you will be working closely with the team ensuring timely management of department administration.

Deal efficiently and professionally with enquires
Track Patient notes
Use of Lorenzo to deal with queries and book patient appointments
Work unsupervised, maintaining and prioritising workload
Monitoring and ordering stationary
Effective communication with all disciplines of staff
Support the department as required

To provide effective administration support, including coordination of outpatient appointments and managing PTL’s for the Neurophysiology team.
Ensure all referrals are regularly passed to clinicians to assign appointment priority in a timely manner
Take telephone calls, ensuring that all relevant issues are dealt with, or accurate messages recorded and passed on to the appropriate person/s.
Deal with relatives and health care professionals courteously, ensuring that issues are resolved, or that a named individual takes responsibility for issues which cannot be resolved immediately.
Arrange appointments for patients and input patient appointment dates and times onto Lorenzo, ensuring current demographic details are correct. Ensure all attendances and outcomes are documented.
Ensure patients are notified of their appointment date and time in writing and if necessary over the telephone if the appointment is at short notice, explaining appointments and clinic arrangements as required.
Ensure any cancelled appointments are rebooked as per Trust policies.
Ensure relevant individuals are made aware of any patients who fail to attend appointments and rebook as requested.
Ensure senior staff members are aware of any issues relating to breaches in waiting times within the Neurophysiology department.
Operate Waiting list/PTL systems as required to avoid breach dates in accordance with the set procedures.
Enter coding information into the Trusts information systems in a timely manner.
