Blackburn with Darwen Adult Learning Service has a part-time permanent English Specialist tutor vacancy.

We are looking for a dynamic English tutor who has experience of designing and delivering short and/or introductory English modules to adults who may have been out of education for some time or have English as a second language. You will need experience delivering functional skills English from entry level through to level 2 and have experience in assessment.

The provision is offered across the whole borough and runs daytime with some evenings and weekends.

The successful applicant will be required to hold a minimum level 4 teaching qualification, a minimum qualification in English at level 3 and a maths qualification at least at functional skills level 2. Applications are particularly welcome from tutors that have recent experience of working within other adult community learning organisations.

We would welcome applicants who have a proven record of experience teaching adults 19+ in English. Knowledge of Ofsted, SAR, moderation, standardisation and RARPA would be a distinct advantage.

We have 2 main learning centres across Blackburn with Darwen. You will be required to travel between centres and other community venues. Travel expenses can be claimed in accordance with our policy.
