You would join this outstanding employer as an Engineering Manager, managing a team and working with in-house scientists to develop robotics technology. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, prototyping, iteration and test of our client’sfuture product portfolio.

The Role:

- A varied and hands on management role, with the ability to run a diverse team of varying experience with approx. 25% time for engineering work
- Running the client’s hardware team
- Lead the engineering team through from product requirements through to New Product Introduction
- Testing prototypes with scientists (who are there to explain and help with any jargon)
- Projects include robotics, automation, motion control, interface design with prototypes created in house on our 3D printers, CNC machines and laser cutters
- There will be a small amount of travel involved to collaboration partners around the UK and possibly abroad.

About you:

- A minimum 2:1 degree in mechanical or electronic engineering discipline
- 10+ years commercial experience as an Engineer in either Mechanical, Electronic or robotic fields
- 3+ years of management or leadership experience in an engineering industry, preferably robotics
- An interest in Robotics
- Experience in New Product Development or New Product Introduction
- A hands-on mentality
- Excellent Root Cause Analysis and problem-solving skills, with the ability to coach others
- Formal or experience-based management and leadership skills, including light HR
- A good level of engineering maths and first principles thinking skills
- Strong people, project management and report writing skills
- Good understanding of design for manufacture and production methodologies
- Strong interest in technology, innovation and robotics
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Willing to undertake training to advance skill set
