The Tax Department is part of the Finance Directorate within The Corporation of Lloyd’s.The Tax Department manages the tax affairs of the Corporation and provides support and assistance to the Lloyd’s Market on tax matters affecting the Market, includingthe filing of tax returns and payment of taxes. It also represents the interests of the Lloyd’s Market with UK and overseas tax authorities.

Blueprint Two sets out Lloyd’s ambitious strategy to deliver profound change in the Lloyd’s market through digitalisation, making the placement of risk more efficient and ensuring that the data is right first time. The Digital Tax Calculator will be usedto support digital risk placement through the automated validation of transaction insurance premium taxes (IPT) applicable to Lloyd’s business and offer greater value to the market through the ability to calculate taxes on their behalf in some instances.

**The Role**

The purpose of this role is to support the Indirect Tax Senior Manager in managing the provision of IPT technical support to the Corporation and the Lloyd’s market, and to support the Future at Lloyd’s programme in the delivery, implementation and ongoingmanagement of the new Blueprint Two Digital Tax Calculator.

**Responsibilities**
- Support the Indirect Tax Manager with IPT audits and tax authority enquiries
- Support the Indirect Tax team with its IPT compliance responsibilities through the preparation, review and filing of UK and overseas IPT returns where required
- Support the Future at Lloyd’s programme in defining and implementing the development roadmap for the Digital Tax Calculator
- Communicate the IPT technical requirements of the Digital Tax Calculator to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring these are understood and delivered
- Manage the relationship with vendors providing the Digital Tax Calculator service
- Manage the relationship with market participants (brokers and managing agents) who will use the Digital Tax Calculator service
- Lead the internal testing of the Digital Tax Calculator to ensure accurate calculation of transactional taxes on Lloyd’s business
- Lead the work to determine the future run model of the Digital Tax Calculator and how it will be used by the Tax Department to support future IPT compliance obligations
- Manage the BAU relationship and co-ordinate activity with implementation partners (e.g. DXC, Lloyd’s Group Technology) who will integrate, implement, and monitor the Digital Tax Calculator service
- Work closely with the Future at Lloyd’s team to support the development, implementation and maintenance of premium tax data standards (including the Core Data Record)

**Skills**
- Strong oral and written and communication skills, in particular the ability to communicate complex tax technical issues to a non-tax audience
- Ability to manage several strands of work to a coherent conclusion and to translate into outcomes
- Good attention to detail and the ability to break down complex challenges into manageable, actionable chunks that can be understood by project teams and other stakeholders
- Strong commitment to delivery coupled with proactivity and problem-solving abilities
- A keen and proactive team player
- A collaborative and inclusive approach to management of all stakeholders

**Knowledge**
- Broad and deep knowledge of global transactional insurance premium taxes (IPT).
- Knowledge of the insurance industry and awareness of the Lloyd’s market.

**Experience**
- Experienced global insurance premium tax (IPT) professional.
