Freeway Recruitment are looking to register temporary workers for a client for the following role:
Role: Drivers Mate

Job type: Temporary

Shifts - (Days): Monday to Friday

Shifts:
0600am - 1400pm

13:30pm - 10:00pm

Description:
We are looking to register Porters who have experience and are familiar working as a Drivers Mate, ideally with experience of home delivery contracts.

The role requires a Driver Mate to work as part of a 2-person home delivery crew working with either another driver.

You will be delivering goods to general public customers delivering retail goods which include home furnishing products

You can expect to deliver between 10-20 drops per day depending on the run and area delivered

You can expect to see to separate runs per shift due to the amount of goods that can be loaded onto the 3.5t Box Van or 7.5 Tonne wagon.

As a Drivers Mate you will support all aspects of the daily distribution requirements, loading/unloading delivery, calling customer ahead of delivery slot, meet and greet customers.

Supporting house/delivery location, safe unloading of goods, manual handling of goods to customers property and delivery point.

You must be physically fit and able to manually handle and unload all stock products to carry out this role.

**Requirements**:

- Be competent and able to follow Health & Safety practises and procedures at all time
- Be reliable and hold excellent time keeping
- Hold a flexible ‘can do’ attitude to your work
- Good command of English both written and spoken
- Excellent communication skills
- Keep vehicle is kept clean and tidy at all times
- Have excellent geographic knowledge of UK road network
- Have a positive attitude and a professional work ethic
- Presentable and professional appearance

Qualifications / training / experience:
You must be able to provide the following;
- Proven experience in previous commercial Drivers Mate or Delivery experience
- 2 work check-able work references

Pay

£11.44 per hour PAYE (plus Holiday Pay)
