Catering Assistant

The RSC is looking for a Catering Assistant to join our Catering team to assist in the efficient running of our Cafes, Bars, iconic Rooftop Restaurant and staff dining room in Stratford-upon-Avon. This is a full-time, permanent position.

It is an exciting time to join us as we prepare to deliver our Autumn programme including A Christmas Carol and welcome our customers for pre-theatre dining, lunch, and hospitality.

Reporting to our Catering Manager, you will deliver excellent customer service to ensure guests have a memorable and enjoyable dining experience. You will tailor your approach to each customer, exciting them with our latest food menu and beverage offeringsas well as handling cash and billing services.

**As a Catering Assistant at the RSC you can expect to**:

- Work collaboratively with the Catering Supervisors and Managers in the delivery of a leading food and beverage offer across all catering areas on site, both in and outside of performance times
- Always ensure that the departments are presented in a style appropriate to the service.
- Greet and welcome all customers in a consistently warm and enthusiastic manner
- Have detailed knowledge of all food and drinks on the menu / drinks list and know how to correctly serve them.
- Take responsibility for all food and drinks ordered, ensuring that the style of service is friendly, efficient, and informal.
- Always ensure the correct presentation of the catering areas and ad hoc function spaces in line with agreed standards.
- Understand the current and forthcoming programme to enhance the visitor experience.
- Always work in a clean and safe manner reporting any issues immediately.
- Receive and mark off deliveries of stock and consumables, ensuring safe handling and storage and reporting on variances where appropriate.
- Always follow Company Health & Safety guidelines.

**To be successful in this role you must**:

- Have a good understanding of excellent customer service

- Have excellent standards of personal appearance
- Be understanding of relevant H&S legislation
- Have the ability to operate a till and process card payments

This is a full-time, permanent contract based in Stratford-Upon-Avon.You will be working 39 hours per week, five days out of seven.This will include some evening and weekend work.
