Metal Tubing Techician

**Purpose**:
To run and set metal bending machines to a high-quality standard. Always looking at improving both the quality and the set up of machine. Using Kaizen techniques such as SMED to improve change over times and the uptime of the machines. Support new product introduction. The role is instrumental in the effective running strategy of the metal bender cells.

**Key Responsibilities (split by key area)**:
**Health & Safety**
- Ensure the highest possible levels of Health and Safety and Housekeeping are always upheld in the area and follow good safe working practices
- Take an active role in Safety Audits and resolve where possible or report/recommend any corrective actions to Production Management
- Responsible for accident reporting to line manager and assisting in investigation and for seeking proactive solutions to issues and reductions in incident levels
- Support Safety initiatives with team
- Ensure completion of regular risk assessments are carried out where applicable and archived correctly
- Report all incidents, hazards, near misses to minimise / eliminate the risk of potential further incidents occurring

**Quality**
- Identify Quality issues as they arise, play an active with the Team and Quality Leader ensuring action is taken as appropriate to ensure containment and resolution is achieved
- Respond to bender production issues and support full detailed investigation, ensure bender running is covered by supporting team member.
- Review all Quality Gates (Poke Yokes) to ensure they are in place and effective by regular audit and review

**New Product Introduction**
- Play a key role in developing new fuel filler, exhausts and small series production products, creating bender programs from scratch.
- Working with the engineering team from design through to implementation of new bent products

**Cost & Delivery**
- Ensure AM checks are completed in a timely manner and recorded on tablets as standard
- Maximise machine uptime during shift hours
- Play an active part in change over reduction activities and OEE improvements

**People Development**
- To actively seek to improve your own knowledge, skills and experience to increase your contribution to the Production Team. To be able to pass your knowledge on to others to help support flexibility within the department.
