This job description concerns the position of QA, which is a support role to the food safety team assuring compliance to site policies, procedures, and customer requirements.

**Specific tasks**
- Assuring compliance to site policies, procedures, and customer COP’s.
- Work alongside/with the management team to assist with operational issues.
- Provide adequate information on issues, concessions and capture for the daily management meetings and general investigations.
- Work within the food safety team to monitor and trend supplier quality issues.
- To ensure that all operating systems and procedures are adhered to as per the standard.
- Provide support and cover as and when needed.
- Provide support during customer audits and visits as and when required.
- Be a point of contact on the factory floor covering both main shifts and provide weekend cover regarding food safety and legal compliance
- To complete and manage the sampling program for the site
- To complete daily KPI’s against departments for weekly review

Job responsibilities and assignments
**Job Purpose**: To deliver the key quality duties outlined within the factory safely, effectively and efficiently to meet the required customer and technical standards.

**Health and Safety**
- Ensure all staff wear correct PPE including ear protection, clothing, cutting gloves and shoes.
- Ensure all teams compliance to the food and hygiene requirements.
- Ensure the team operate within company health and safety standards and that workstations are kept clean and tidy at all times.
- Report any hazards or machine problems immediately to Manager / Leader or designate and support resolution as appropriate.

**Business Performance**
- Delivery of the key food safety duties outlined.
- Ensure Good standards of General Manufacturing Practice and that the departments are audit ready at all times.
- Ensure all Technical standards are met across the site and support with this as required.
- Contribute to Departmental and Site improvement projects as required.
- Resolving unexpected problems as required.
- Continuously review and identify ways to improve efficiency and yields and reduce labour costs and waste whilst maintaining quality and technical standards.

**Leadership & Development**
- Lead effective 2-way communication within their team to ensure all staff are kept informed of business, departmental and team issues to help support an engaged and motivated workforce.
- Coach and mentor staff to enable them to perform their work effectively, efficiently, and safely to required standards, especially through the QMS eSmiley system.
- Support Departmental and site Training champions and co-ordinator with the development of training plans and attend required training.
- Assist as required with Training and Development initiatives.
- Act as a role model and lead by example demonstrating Core company values, behaviours and high performance standards at all times.
- Provide appropriate constructive feedback to improve performance to Operators on an informal basis specifically relating to food safety and the sites QMS.
- Take personal responsibility for own development and ensure knowledge and understanding of best practice and factors affecting business performance is kept up to date.
- Be an active internal audit team member ensuring the schedule is completed in a timely manner.
- Internal audit skills, ability to complete an internal audit, communicate, report and close out actions
- Incident management, following an incident manage risk to safe level to ensure food safety
- Complaint investigation and management
- Detailed understanding of area CCPs and the CCP procedures
- The ability to complete a traceability audit
- Understanding of impact and cost of decisions within the business
