About the role
- To manage the Debt Collection team
- To reduce outstanding debt and maximise cash flow
- To manage the Branch Debt Ledger and overseeing accounts that have been referred for legal action
- To take an active role in the Debt Collection function of the team
- To calculate and post Period End provisions for outstanding debt
- Manage small value debts to CCJ via clearance centre
- To review the ledgers of the Debt Collectors on a regular basis to ensure a sound awareness of all debtors and highlight to the AR Team Manager any possible bad debt situations.
- Ensure each Debt Collector is adhering to their MSOP
- Ensure each Debt Collection Administrator is adhering to their MSOP
- Ensure the Legal Co-Ordinator is adhering to their MSOP
- Directly manage each Debt Collection team member workload
- To deliver periodic one to ones with each team member and highlight any issues
- To review debts pending Write Off
- To ensure that Period End objectives are met
- To ensure all reporting is completed and checked
- To highlight to the AR Manager where additional training is required in order to assist in the development of each team member

You will be responsible for
- Effective management of the Debt Collection Team
- Reducing Ledger Balance and improving aged profile
- Reconciliation of Branch Debt accounts on regular basis
- Increase efficiency of Debt Recovery transfer from Branch to Finance
- Management of legal debts by liaising closely with Solicitors
- Pro-active approach to debt recovery as notification received
- Commitment and pro-active involvement to process improvements
- Meeting Period End Deadlines
- Providing concise reports
