**Job Description**:
Job title: Contracts & Settlements Supervisor (Structured Products)

Reports to: Contracts & Settlements Manager

Department

Contracts and Settlements is one of several support functions that enable EDF Trading to tightly control its commercial activities and process a large number of transactions with a wide variety of counterparts.

The department acts as an enabler for the commercial side of the business whilst ensuring effective processes and controls are in place to mitigate operational risk and potential loss whether financial (actual or lost opportunity) or reputational.

Position Purpose

The Structured Products team will be responsible for overseeing the impact and evaluating the implementation of new business within Contracts and Settlements.

The Role of the supervisor is to provide oversight and control of risks to new business. The Team will work closely with other business stakeholders to understand the risks posed by new business, assist in outlining controls, provide oversight and summarise impacts to current processes. Ensure new business is understood in detail as well as identifying control gaps and weaknesses.

Primary Responsibilities

Team Responsibilities

- Contribute to the analysis and understanding of new business processes.
- Assist in the definition of and documentation of control frameworks for new business proposals.
- Outline and deliver system developments, ensuring changes are in line with internal control framework for, but not limited to:

- Ethanol lifecycle
- PPA data management
- Testing of updates for completeness, accuracy and identification of issues.
- Analysing and documenting understanding of Structured products. Including but not limited to:

- Complex Power and Gas transactions
- Emissions delivery
- PPA transactions
- Weather Derivatives
- Ethanol lifecycle
- LNG / LPG
- Any other duties assigned by Manager / Supervisor.

Supervisory Responsibilities
- Evaluate implementation of controls and the overall operational framework of the structured products team.
- Oversight and control of BAU processes relating to structured products.
- Objective setting and performance management of all team members.
- Coaching and development of all team members.
- Production & analysis of relevant KPIs and reports for team management.
- Ensuring timely escalation of any issues to management where appropriate.
- Building & maintaining relationships with key internal & external contacts, including: Front Office, IT etc.
- Any other duties assigned by Manager.

Experience & Skills Required
- Ideally, prior experience of working in an Operations function of an energy trading environment having worked with trading counterparties and both Commercial and Front Office teams including traders.
- A proven track record of performing time critical operations in a trading environment.
- Knowledge of structured products, not exclusively: Weather derivatives, Ethanol, PPA and Emissions transactions. As well as associated processes, including operational lifecycles of a trade.
