Production Supervisor

**MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB (Why does the job exist?)**

The role of Shift supervisor exists to provide effective frontline management to a designated area within the production facility. The role supports delivery of our key Supply Chain performance indicators across a balanced scorecard including Health and Safety, Quality, Cost and Service. The key focus of the role is to proactively manage colleagues to manufacture products to the highest possible standard of quality, efficiency and with mínimal wastage. This is achieved through the effective planning of labour, ensuring availability of material and provision of a safe working environment for all colleagues and visitors.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
a. To ensure that all work is carried out in a safe manner in compliance with the Company’s Health & Safety Policy and Procedures.

b. To ensure that all Company and customer quality procedures are complied with to deliver the highest possible standard of product to meet our customers’ expectations

c. To ensure that the highest standards of hygiene and housekeeping are maintained in the unit and across the whole facility.

d. To act as the initial point of contact for all issues within the designated unit.

e. To deliver financial performance by working with support functions.

f. To deliver clear action plans to improve efficiency and reduce waste within the unit.

g. To provide accurate and relevant data daily weekly and monthly to support the performance delivery and effective management.

h. To manage the skills of all colleagues in the unit and where further training is required, plan and ensure that skills are further developed.

i. To actively encourage all colleagues to provide solutions to problems and a means of improving the company both to reduce cost and enhance its position in the business environment and local area.

j. To proactively manage labour requirements, skills and numbers to deliver the required production volumes

k. To set the standards of behaviour, work ethic and appearance to all colleagues and visitors.

l. To actively manage all people issues and challenges using all relevant departments and support staff to correctly manage these situations.

m. To provide agreed team briefs to all colleagues at agreed times.

n. To review team performance with each line during shifts to provide relevant information in Short Interval Control (SIC) meetings.

o. To ensure that the business is correctly appraised of any challenges and successes in the unit.

p. To ensure that all communication is completed with accurate data, correct facts and is carried out in professional manner.

q. To always challenge the status quo to ensure the unit of responsibility is continually striving to be the best it can be.

r. Together with other peers ensure that all units have management cover at all times and all colleagues are clear about the contact for that shift.

s. To adhere to all HR policies/procedures and to deal with people issues that may arise in a timely and accurate manner - eg. Return to Work Reviews, Performance Management & Time and Attendance etc.

t. To take an active role in continuously developing your skills and knowledge through self-development activities and/or through attending Company organised training and development opportunities.

u. To ensure that the Company is professionally represented at all times, both inside and outside the business.

v. To respond to ad hoc requests and/or take an active role in specific projects as directed by your line manager.

w. To undertake any other reasonable duties as may from time to time be required by the Company.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
