**Head of Data and Insights**️**

The Head of Data and Insights role is a critical part of the organisation putting data-driven decision making at the heart of char.gy’s strategy and operations. Reporting to the CFO and working closely with the CTO, this role will drive the future of decision making for char.gy and will be a highly influential role working with the senior leadership team.

The role is responsible for building a centralised, value-driven data and insights team, to serve the organisation by delivering valuable insights and nurturing a culture that values data-driven decision-making. Focused on insights, innovation and establishing a strong foundation in essential data disciplines, such as data governance, data management, and the use of analytics and AI, this role is critical in unlocking the value that lies latent in existing data and augmenting this with potential third-party data sets.

This is a truly business transforming role impacting how decisions are made and shaping the products and services that char.gy offer. Understanding how data and insight underpin every decision will drive transformational change and organisational performance.

The work is highly varied and one key responsibility is to promote the value of using data and insights to inform decision making and ultimately the strategic direction of char.gy. The post holder will need to build new capabilities and transition these into business-as-usual. Providing strong leadership, the role holder will lead on the delivery of a range of innovative insight and analytical products which will articulate a clear evidenced based approach to driving char.gy’s growth aspirations.

**Responsibilities**:

- To provide leadership in developing and embedding a data insight function and a data strategy.
- Develop a roadmap to implement the data strategy to become a data-driven organisation.
- Build strong relationships and collaborative partnerships with wide-ranging stakeholders to ensure the alignment of data strategy with organisational objectives.
- Oversee the build of new performance dashboards and visualisation tools and products, shaping the design and end use, making use of innovative technology.
- Provide the analytical capability that interprets the data and system performance information to support operational decision-making.
- Ensure that there is sufficient and robust data governance, data management capabilities in place.
- Ensure that the technical infrastructure is specified appropriately to meet both current and future planned needs.
- Take ownership of char.gy's bespoke Demand Mapping Tool, a predictive model that has been used to forecast utilisation of charge points.
- Explore and ultimately lead the development of further predictive models to support the business e.g. to support a drive towards predictive maintenance.
- Explore the use of emerging technics and technologies in the use of data analysis and the use of AI to improve both efficiency and effectiveness of the organisation.

**This role will suit you if**:

- Significant experience of using data, insight and analytics to tell an influential story.
- Analytical and technical expertise in the understanding of strengths and weaknesses of data and methodological techniques, able to provide appropriate challenge on use of analysis and use of AI.
- The ability to horizon scan and analyse the external environment to inform and influence the senior leadership team.
- An analytical and creative mind which can uncover new and impactful ways of working with data to create value for char.gy.
- Experience of leading complex programmes of work, while thinking and acting strategically.
- Good leadership skills to guide the team and business on a day-to-day basis and develop their knowledge.
- Good communication skills with the capacity to work with colleagues at all levels.
- The ability to build influential networks and professional working relationships with colleagues, customers, and a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
