As we continue to expand our operations, we have a brand-new opening for a dynamic **Purchasing Manager** to join us. You will key to sourcing and supplying raw materials, utilities and outside services globally.

**Key Responsibilities of the Purchasing Manager**:

- Part of the Senior Management Team, you will develop a cohesive strategy for improving and reinventing the procurement tactics utilised by the company
- Coordinate with finance/accounting on matters involving inventory carrying costs
- Review and plan requirements for acceptable inventory. Work with customers in auditing customer inventory levels and with internal and external vendors to comply with inventory policies
- Plan and implement activities related to the timely, cost-effective procurement, inventory control, planning and quality control of production materials
- Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and material control systems to reduce costs, streamline procedures, and implement solutions
- Effectively manage; support and drive the performance of the Purchasing Team
- Plan and implement activities related to the purchasing of materials, equipment and services for internal company use
- Select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the department
- Undertake performance management of staff, conduct monthly 121s and chairing team meetings
- Negotiate contracts, pricing and pricing queries with suppliers. Monitor the cost, schedule and support the identification of alternatives
- Ability to compile and run complex reports identifying unconfirmed orders, overdue parts, excess stock on order & material that’s coming in to early
- Globally support wider group tasks, work closely with the Materials department to ensure appropriate stock levels are maintained and support QA in new and existing vendor evaluation

**Skills & Experience Required**:

- Ideally educated to ONC level and/or Qualified in Professional Diploma in Procurement and Supply and a member of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS)
- Proven buying/purchasing experience ideally within the electronics and electro-mechanical sectors
- An Inspirational Leader, charismatic and capable of providing clear direction for the department
- Strong IT skills required including Excel and MRP systems
- Rational problem solver, good at analysing data to reach appropriate conclusions. Confident working with statistics and numerical data
