**Project Engineer-** We are looking for a strong project engineer with a technical background either electrical or mechanical, who is looking to develop their skills within a progressive environment. - South Wales - Cardiff - Office based - Technical background - 25 days holiday + Bank holidays - Car Allowance - Paying up to £37k **Job Purpose** The purpose of the role is to: - Overseeing work of subcontractors and engineers. - Identify project responsibilities, delegating phases and elements to the appropriate personnel - Maximize project efficiency and profitability **General Activities** - Responsible for deftly managing complex industrial and engineering endeavours from start to finish. - Understand the full scope of the project works to be delivered. This is to include budget requirements and required profit margins. - Identify, reduce and manage all statutory and commercial risks associated with the project they are acting as Supervisor on. - Ensure full compliance with project management policies and procedures. - Supervise the day-to-day operational aspects of the project(s) "end to end". Activities to include but not be limited to sub contractor management and site supervisory duties. - Work closely with relevant stake holders to ensure effective and efficient implementation of the project(s). - Ensure customer acceptance is adhered to, in writing and in line with the project plans. - Ensures project documents are complete, current and appropriately stored. - Project engineers are in charge of all aspects of a venture, including planning, budgeting, personnel, and more. - This position will be office based, with the occasional site visit required; ensuring work is being completed safely and efficiently. **Commercial Awareness**: - Assist the Project Manager in managing scope creep through client change orders, internal change orders, phased delivery or other methods to ensure projects deliver on time line, scope, and budget and strategy expectations. - Track and assure KPI’s are met - Attend Project reviews to analyse project profitability, revenue, margin etc. **Person Specification** **Skills**: - Awareness of contractual terms - Ability to plan and organise labour and equipment - Strong influencing and negotiation skills - Ability to deliver projects on time and on budget - Ability to understand financial metrics - Intrapersonal and communication skills - Strong analytical and problem solving skills - Work independently with mínimal supervision - Communicate effectively and fluently **Knowledge** - Broad technical understanding within M&E sector - Good Computer literacy & Organisation skills
