**Dawson Levy Resourcing**currently have a great opportunity for an Area Services Manager to join a key client of ours on a permanent basis, to work around the Oxford area within the Water/Wastewater Industry.
**About the role**:
This exciting opportunity will give you the chance to be a key part of our wastewater treatment business. You will lead a team who will provide specialist technical support to Performance Managers across an area, with a particular technical specialism inmaintenance. This role will be critical in helping to ensure that the agreed compliance and service levels are achieved both now and in the future and enable us to drive strategic change in maintenance.
Responsible for technical input to site improvements projects in order to secure effective and efficient asset utilisation and management such as capital investment. Quality assurance for contractor work (financial and quality)
- Own and optimise maintenance delivery plan in conjunction with the process delivery plan.
- Monitor and review plant performance and reliability, investigate critical plant failures and ensure corrective actions are taken.
- Drive improvements to give a reduction in the maintenance serviceability cost by asset type.
- Support the development of strategic standards through working with peers in Operations and SPA to ensure compliance with regulatory standards to meet cost, quality and time objectives.
- Development of technical strategies in accordance with Company and Maintenance Services objectives - including the coordination of strategic spares and monitoring, implementation and maintenance of relevant associated quality programmes such as SAP.
- Ensure asset registers are up to date following investment or on-site changes and annual reviews take place.
- Develop and maintain planned maintenance capital programme in your area.
- Assist / Input into EPR (Environmental Permitting Regulations) where required, to include reviews and updates of SOM's (site operating manuals)
- Take part in Out of Hours rota if required
**Health and Safety**:
- To ensure that a culture of behavioural safety is embedded and that the health, safety and wellbeing of employees and other affected person are top priority.
- Responsible for the delivery of statutory and specialist maintenance for operational and maintenance activities such as lifting equipment, generator maintenance, boilers, digest ancillaries, pressure vessels and DSEAR compliance.
- Responsible for LOAD and training compliance.
**People**:
- To manage the team to achieve agreed objectives, providing strong leadership aligned with our client's values.
- To act as a coach, hold developmental conversations and continually coach and mentor teams.
- To drive a culture of performance, efficiency, optimising people performance.
- Responsible for the technical development of all apprentices in the area. To ensure they have access to the right jobs to build their learning portfolios. Ensuring they have a competent mentor and to conduct regular reviews with them individually to ensurethey are developing as expected.
- To utilise our apprentice population for projects that allow them to develop their skills and gain experience in all areas required to meet the standard.
- To support Performance Managers in ensuring the area offers development to their technicians so they have the right skills and capabilities and are following our client's standards and methods of work.
- To support local apprentice mentors to be role models to their apprentices and develop existing team members to become mentors of the future.
- To provide technical expertise for recruitment of new employees.
- To manage resource availability plan of maintenance technicians across the area.
- To act as a chair, or presenting manager in any disciplinary, capability and sickness meetings, in conjunction with the Manager's advice service.
- To assist Performance Managers with managing the performance, development, training of maintenance technicians and to develop competency assessments for this population to ensure that individuals are equipped to perform effectively and safely.
- To proactively manage the engagement of your team utilising our hear for you survey to develop a local action plan.
**To be successful you will have the following skills and experience**:
- We are seeking an individual with a background in industrial mechanical / electrical maintenance including planned and preventative maintenance.
- You will ideally have a minimum of a BTEC / NVQ L3 or equivalent in Mechanical / Electrical and a BTEC HNC Electrical / Mechanical or have an ICA background.
- You will be an experienced people-manager with a proven track record of engaging and developing a team, and ideally will have been a technical mentor to apprentices in a previous role.
- A facilities background would be desirable and NEBOSH would be ideal. You will be required to have this qualification if you do not already.
- You will have good communication skills as well as excellent IT skills, especially Excel, and the ability to interrogate data via SAP is desirable.
