**Data Governance Lead - £600 Per Day Inside IR35 - Remote/Reigate/London**
An excellent opportunity has arisen with our client, who are a market leading Financial Services organisation. We are seeking a talented Data Scientist to work with the business on a programme that is focussed on enhancing the companies ability to extract greatervalue from operational data. The programme is now at a pivotal point where the need to bring in an experienced Data Steward to ensure good data practices are being followed. Our client have a flexible approach to home working but will require a weekly tripto the London or Reigate office.
**Role & Responsibilities**:

- Design data governance processes from ground up based on specific the needs of the business
- Create, own and maintain documented standards for analytics data objects
- Act as SME for all data governance activities including data policies, procedures, ownership, glossary and lineage
- Provide oversight and direction for the business users, data stewards and data management teams to ensure standards are embedded and followed
- Provide training, mentoring and support on data standards to business users data stewards, other participants in the data governance community
- Act as the business owner for the requirements of data quality dashboards and monitoring tools
- Direct initiatives to cleanse and improve data
- Provide an escalation point for exception and compliance decisions
- Inform and educate users via training material and presentations
- Update stakeholders via working groups, service reviews and project updates
- Participate in change control processes to provide guidance, oversight and decision-making
- Participate in project, process or governance forums as delegate of the data owner
- Organise and run the data governance working groups
- Maintain the data object issue and risk registers and drive prioritisation, mitigation and resolution with the data object owner and working group. Maintain data object metadata in the data register and data catalogue

**Key Skills**:

- Experience in the resolving conflicts and able to rationalise common data definitions and key performance metrics, maintenance of key data governance artefacts
- Strong engagement, communication and stakeholder management skills, including excellent organisational, presentation and influencing skills
- A Can do' attitude to understanding data issues, the impact and proactively driving change

**Contract details**:

- £600 Per Day Inside of IR35
- Initial 6 month contract
- Once a week trips into either London or Reigate office
