**Job title - Cash Specialist**
**Salary - Circa £40k**
**Location - 14 Pier Walk, North Greenwich**
**Contract Type - 12 Months Fixed Term Contract**

**Overview of project/role**

You will oversee receipt processing and deliver timely allocation of incoming funds to support TfL's cash flow. You will also support the refund process and conduct certain revenue accounting activities such as preparing journals for revenue accruals and deferred income. You will be expected to deliver against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) while maintaining a cost efficient service

**Key Accountabilities**
- Oversee receipt processing, support any required receipt reconciliation activity and deliver the prompt and effective allocation of cash over several entities
- Support the refund process including reviewing refund requests and as required seeking appropriate business approval before processing these
- Own the relationship between the bank and the Business Services Function
- Deliver against KPIs and ensure a high quality service is provided, addressing external customer and business / Finance queries as required
- Remain up to date and comply with relevant policies, controls, thresholds and guides, adopting a risk-based approach to activities and escalate any issues to the Collections & Cash Management Manager in a timely manner
- Support continuous improvement opportunities which could improve cash flow, minimise debt or support more cost effective delivery of processes.

**Skills, Knowledge & Experience**

Knowledge:

- Excellent knowledge of how the processes they will be responsible for should be delivered and how these fit in with the wider Order to Cash process as well as dependencies on other Finance and business processes (Desirable)
- Strong working knowledge of CHAPS payments and other banking systems and software (Desirable)
- Strong knowledge of the use of journals and cash receivables/payables (Essential)
- Working knowledge of the SAP system to enable them to efficiently perform the role (e.g. cash allocation) - (Essential)
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software, especially MS Excel (Essential)
- Understanding of accounting principles (Essential)

- Attention to detail (Essential)

Experience
- Experience of working in Order to Cash teams and delivering cash management activity (Desirable)
- Experience in supporting continuous improvement initiatives (Desirable)
- Experience of working in a business services environment. (Desirable)
- Experience in dealing with third-parties (Essential)
