**Bicycle Retail Advisor**

Main Purpose of this role:
To provide outstanding customer involvement while identifying customer needs and upsell opportunities that ensure the customer has the most suitable products or service to increase the likelihood of them having best cycling experience possible.

**Duties**:
To ensure the efficient running of the shop and demonstrate excellent customer service consistent with the company standards by:
Participate in the day-to-day running of the shop

Meet, greet and direct customers

Continue to be seen and make yourself available to customers

Ask probing, open questions to discover customer’s needs

Follow the Sales Process at all times

Demonstrate products and answer questions

Know best sellers, features and benefits in each bike type

Know the stores product layout

Developing a good knowledge of Shop stock, ensuring that customers are informed.

Process any bike hire requirements.

Operate the till and accurately handle cash, cheques and credit/debit cards, finance schemes and cycle schemes

Respond to orders received from the online shop by processing, packaging and posting

Update The Bike Company social media accounts.

Help other Sales employees who might be working with multiple customers

Assist in changing displays of shop stock

Receive deliveries, unpack and re-shelve or store stock

Assist with regular stock checks and with quarterly and annual stock takes

Ensure all fire exits and escape routes are kept free from obstruction

Being vigilant at all times and to help minimise stock loss

Perform basic bike sizing

Offer suggestions to Management for business improvement

Give feedback to Management on trending and in-decline products

Process Special orders, layaways, transfers, holds, sold, warranties and return policies

Assist where needed to fill any voids on the sales floor

Continue to learn about products through Self-Study and Discussion with other staff

Share knowledge with others

Keep the shop, washroom, kitchen storage areas clean, tidy and stocked at all times

Complete given task requests from Management and other team members

- **Strong Verbal Communications Skills** - able to clearly explain Features and Benefits of all stocked Bicycles to clients at all levels.
- **Knowledge** - Have in-depth knowledge of the UK bike industry and parts. Proactively share knowledge and skills with other team members.
- **Problem Solving Skills** - Analytical problem solving and lateral thinking with the ability to see the ‘Bigger Picture’ while working under pressure.
- **IT Skills** - Strong keyboard skills and Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. Ascend skills would be desirable.
- **Time Management** - Ability to prioritise and manage their own time when working in a fast paced environment.
- **Team Work** - Able to work as part of a team and independently while striving to ensure every bike sale meets our high standards and frequently looks to exceed and improve upon those standards.
- **Mechanical Skills **- Excellent manual dexterity and technical knowledge of repairing of punctures and building boxed bicycles.

**Experience**:
Previous experience in a busy bike shop is a necessity for this position. We usually require 3-5 years of bicycle sales experience, although exceptions will be considered on assessment of a trial day.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: £14,700.00-£20,880.00 per year
