One of the largest charities in the UK is currently recruiting for a Night Support Officer to provide an excellent, overnight housing related support service to their residents in Welwyn Garden City
**The Role**
This role is part of a small team delivering accommodation and support to local individuals and the focus of the role is to delivery support in a person-centred way, aiming to understand the strengths of individuals. Residents will be supported to get the mostfrom their accommodation placement while also planning for their future and more independent living.
This will include the following tasks and responsibilities:

- Provide a night reception service to residents and visitors including answering telephone calls
- Ensure our policies and rules are adhered to in respect of visitors and overnight guests at all times.
- Talk to and provide assistance to service users who request help or who may feel lonely and isolated.
- Defuse any situations that may arise between service users, providing assistance and help, as appropriate.
- Ensure accurate and concise reports are prepared relating to any issues or incidents.
- Contact on call Duty Support Worker or senior management for advice on serious issues
- Undertake record and note keeping and routine administrative tasks as required.
- Liaise with Team Leaders at start and end of shifts for handover and update
- Monitor CCTV system to identify any possible incidents and take immediate action, as appropriate.
- Undertake frequent and regular patrols of the building to identify any antisocial behaviour (i.e. noise levels) and take appropriate action, as required.
- Provide first aid assistance as required and call for professional help when needed.
- Act as Fire Warden in the event of a fire alarm being triggered.

To be considered for this Night Support Officer role, you will require previous experience providing housing related support and developing support plans.
**Additionally, due to the vulnerable nature of the service users you will be working with, you will also require a clean, enhanced DBS.**
**The Contract**
This is a full time Night Support Officer role, working hours: five nights out of seven, 10pm - 8am. Total 50 hours per week.
This is an initial 12 week temporary contract, with a view to becoming permanent, on a salary of £ 25,740. This also includes an attractive benefits package including a health cash plan that contributes to the dentist, optician and complementary medicine treatments;life cover; and a pension scheme, as well as free Gym use.
