**Role Overview**
As a Healthcare Assistant you'll contribute to the delivery of care needs to the patients by assisting the team in providing a high standard of care and you'll provide support to the team.
**What you'll do**:
- Welcome and receive patients, visitors, and colleagues to the Unit.
- Always ensure the needs and concerns of patients and their friends/relatives are given thorough attention and a friendly and efficient service is provided.
- Assist patients to orientate to the ward.
- Report to a qualified nurse, any changes in a patient's condition that may require.
- Refer patients', relatives', and colleagues' queries to the Nursing Staff.
- Accompany patients (including their friends and relatives) between Departments.
- Assist in patient hygiene and elimination procedures.
- Transport Clinical specimens / Prescription charts, as directed, to the relevant Departments.
- Provide direct basic technical assistance to medical staff as and when required.
- Assist with observation and collection of specimens.
- Assist the receptionist and nursing staff with any other clerical duties when required.
**What you'll bring**:
- NVQ Level 2 (Direct Patient Care) or equivalent
- Good communicator/interpersonal skills.
- Good Verbal and written skills.
- Previous experience within a hospital setting
- Phlebotomy trained.
