**Student Support and Exams Administrator**

**Enhanced term-time only (41 weeks), with pay for 42 weeks**

**£27,677 - £29,199 inclusive, actual per annum**

**Start date as soon as possible**

We are looking for a motivated and reliable person to work closely with our student services team in supporting the student community within the College in this multi-faceted role. The postholder will be providing administrative support to the additional learning support team, maintaining medical records and administering financial support to students by way of the bursary and through free school meals. It is a hands-on role and involves contact with students who are seeking support. A further important strand will be supporting the exams process and working alongside the Exams Manager to organise and run exam periods.

This postholder will report to the Assistant Principal of Student Services. The role will suit someone who enjoys working with young people and as part of a team but who also has the confidence and independence to work on their own initiative.

We are looking for someone flexible and with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, a positive attitude and plenty of enthusiasm who is able to work calmly under pressure if required. Sound word-processing skills, ICT competency and a good telephone manner are essential.

The salary will be at Point 14 to Point 16 on the sixth form college support staff salary scale, currently £28,549 to £30,288 pro-rata, depending on experience, plus £3,082 Outer London Weighting pro rata, per annum. The actual salary range will therefore be £27,677 to £29,199 inclusive per annum.

**Essential Requirements**
- Experience in administering multiple systems
- The ability to work flexibly and prioritise competing tasks
- Very good organisation and record keeping skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, tact and discretion
- Experience of and enthusiasm for working with young people
- Ability to work autonomously and confidently
- A commitment to providing helpful systems which support students
- The ability to hold sensitive discussions with students and their parents
- The temperament to remain calm under pressure and to problem-solve
- The confidence to marshal students and staff particularly in an exams context
- An understanding of and commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion in practice
- A commitment to safeguarding the interests and needs of young people.

**Desirable Requirements**
- Experience of work in an education setting
- An understanding of medical conditions and the interventions they may require during the school day
- An understanding of the system requirements for written examinations such as A levels
- An understanding of providing additional learning support to students.
