**Position Title**: Customer service assistant / Sandwich artist

**Reports To**: Manager

**Position Summary**:
A Sandwich Artist® greets and serves guests, prepares food, maintains food safety and sanitation standards, and handles inventory and delivery including the paperwork associated with it.

Exceptional customer service is a major component of this position.

**Experience** - Experience in working in the fast-paced retail food industry, Ability to understand and implement written and verbal instruction. Good communicator, quick-paced, reliable, and flexible.

**Tasks and Responsibilities**:

- Prepares food neatly, accurately, and in a timely fashion.
- Demonstrates a complete understanding of menu items and explains the menu to customers accurately, when necessary.
- Exhibits a cheerful and helpful manner when dealing with guests.
- Checks products in the sandwich unit area and restocks items to ensure there is a sufficient supply throughout the shift.
- Undertakes cleaning as required and directed.
- Greets customers and prepares their orders, uses Point of Sale system/cash register to record the order and computes the amount of the bill, collects payment from guests and gives accurate change.
- Understands and adheres to all quality standards, formulas and procedures as outlined in the _Operations Manual_.
- Accounts for all forms of money, bread etc during the shift.
- Understands and adheres to proper food handling, safety and sanitization standards while preparing food, serving food and cleaning up.
- Maintains professional appearance and grooming standards as outlined in the _Operations Manual_.
- Performs weekly inventory and ordering and other duties as assigned from time to time.

**Equipment**:
Equipment used will include (but is not limited to): Bread Oven, Proofer, Toaster Oven, Microwave, Vegetable and Tomato Slicer, Knives.

**Prerequisites**:
**_Education: _**High school or equivalent with good numeric knowledge.

**_Physical: _**Must be able to work at any area of the restaurant when needed and operate a computerised Point of Sale system/cash register. Position requires bending, standing, and walking the entire workday. Employees must have the ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.
