The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is responsible for welfare, pensions and child maintenance policy and is responsible for helping people move into employment, supporting pensioners and protecting some of the most vulnerable in our society. Counter Fraud Compliance and Debt’s (CFCD) aim is to drive down the level of fraud, error and debt within the benefit system, to protect the public purse.
As part of CFCD you will be at the heart of DWP’s efforts to reduce fraud and error in the benefit system. This is a hugely important public service, and our challenge is bigger than ever.

**Job description**:
The job will include a range of duties including, but not restricted to, the following:
- Work with internal and external stakeholders (contingent labour provider), encourage collaborative working between teams, build relationships and achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Identify risks to performance achievement and drive forward continuous improvement. Including the recruitment/termination of contingent labour.
- Manage the contract budget monthly, ensuring that the public purse is protected and that all financial considerations are made to keep within the agreed contract budget. Highlighting to senior civil servants any risks that are identified.
- Support Team Leader to ensure Contingent Labour are paid appropriately by ensuring Brook Street Policies and Procedures are adhered to whilst also kept in line with DWP.
- Support senior leaders to negotiate, extend and gain senior civil servant sign off for any current and future contracts.
- Directly line manage a team, provide clear, visible and strong leadership and engage with colleagues to drive high performance and quality.
- Create an inclusive team environment, embracing different individual needs, views and ideas, making it clear to all that bullying, harassment and discrimination is unacceptable.
- Motivate, develop and encourage teams, undertake regular performance reviews, provide coaching, learning and development and one to ones to develop skills.
- Ensure all security matters (including information protection) are dealt with promptly and sensitively, in line with DWP policies and procedures.
- Use networking and influencing to create, maintain and improve service delivery for all customers.
- Support the identification of priorities and work collaboratively to ensure the delivery of both your own and others’ objectives. Including the negotiation of taking on work from additional work streams.

- Project Delivery: Experience of delivering complex or high-risk projects using strong planning, negotiation, and organisational skills, within agreed time, cost, and quality constraints. **(Lead Criteria)**:
- Communication and Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and work effectively across disciplines, professions and teams in a fast-paced environment. **(Second Lead Criteria)**:
- Stakeholder Engagement and Decision-Making: A proactive approach to stakeholder engagement, with experience of influencing and managing relationships. Able to operate with autonomy in ambiguous and changing environments, making sound decisions at pace.
- Leadership and Adaptability: Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate teams, manage changing priorities, and deliver outcomes in line with business needs.
- Digital Capability: Confident in using digital tools, such as MS Office 365 and platforms to support project delivery, collaboration, and communication.
- Personal Effectiveness: Demonstrates emotional intelligence, integrity, and a professional demeanour that inspires confidence and trust.
