We have an excellent long term contract opportunity in the North East of England for an EHS Specialist to work on the construction phase of our prestigious client's offshore wind farm project.
The role has been deemed inside scope from an IR35 perspective so we would need to proceed via our PAYE or Umbrella solutions
Although the role has been given an EHS Specialist title you will cover the duties of an onsite Environmental Manager, which are as follows:
- Carry out site environmental inductions where required.
- Ensure site inductions are updated to reflect any changes in environmental and consents procedures during the project
- Identify significant environmental aspects and potential impacts of the work to be undertaken by each contractor on site.
- Identify environmental improvement ideas, near misses and incidents.
- Identify the implications of not complying with environmental consent requirements and conditions.
- Ensure Environmental site rules and requirements are delivered through the sub-contractors works.
- Produce environmental presentations as and when required to communicate the requirements and compliance of environmental controls used on the project.
- Discuss, co-ordinate and resolve all HSE and consents matters of concern on site and examine current and future activities to ensure a consistently high standard on site.
- Engage in external communication with external bodies, such as government departments and regulatory bodies concerning environmental, and consents matters on a case-by-case basis.
- Investigate and resolve external enquiries or complaints relating to an environmental and consents matters.
- Create incident reports for all incidents and near misses.
- Complete a Weekly Construction Consent Checklist containing all the project consent obligations for the associated construction phase of work.
- Co-ordinate and prepare a combined results of each Contractors ongoing environmental monitoring.
- Maintain statutory and other required records as required by the management plan.
- Ensure control measures are put in place to ensure plant and equipment is maintained and not causing a negative impact on the environment.
- Produce monitoring records for specific environmental issues, such as noise monitoring, soil analysis and store in the appropriate document management system.
- Undertake environmental audits.
- Produce an audit and inspection programme associated with each package of works.
- Record, monitor and close out Non-Conformities and Observations raised during environmental audits, inspections, incidents, near misses and complaints.
- Ensure compliance to the Project Construction Environmental Management Plan
- Identify amendments and update required to the Project Construction Environmental Management Plan during the works and ensure updates are facilitated.
Experience
- The applicant must be able to demonstrate through previous roles, experience of acting in a similar role.
