**Working hours**:18.5 hours per week (We work in a 7 day a week service, the role will be required to work alternate weekends, other shifts will be on a weekday rota, some flexibility required)

Colchester City Council have obtained funding to create this new and exciting role in the Greening team. The role is for 2 years fixed term, with the possibility to extend depending on further successful bids for funding.
**Duties of the role**
- Duties include working outside year-round in all weathers to deliver education sessions for schools and groups in line with the national curriculum.
- Creating and delivering a programme of events and regular groups to engage with children, families and people in the community.
- Working across the city to deliver sessions at Colchester City parks and open spaces as well as visiting schools to deliver directly to groups as required.
- Producing education materials to be used for ranger led sessions and for self-guided events.
- Corresponding with schools and leaders to organise their groups and administer forms.
- Working with the wider greening team to help deliver on tasks as required.
**Please note: You will need to be available to work both Saturday and Sunday on alternate weekends, the rest of the shifts will be on a regular rota during the week.**
**Qualifications and skills**
- Experience of and enthusiasm for being in the outdoor environment
- A great work ethic where aptitude and attitude are key
- A natural pride in the work you produce
- A flexible and adaptive approach able to perform using your own initiative both independently and as a team player
- A professional manner in all that you do
- The ability to use standard office 365 software to effectively support learning.
- Familiarity with forest school programmes and a qualification or willingness to work towards one.
