**What you'll be doing**
As a **Trainee Proposals Writer**, you will have the following accountabilities:

- Gather, collate and write material in order to meet the requirements for brochures, presentations pre-qualification and tender submissions
- Capture and support development of bid ‘win themes’ from tender strategy meetings
- Write specific content for collateral and in response to questions in a PQQ or tender.
- Proactively engage in knowledge management systems, capturing and submitting evidence for use in future bids
- Research and write supporting information for use in proposals, including case studies, CVs, project best practice and project innovations
- Work to a programme of deliverables to meet customer requirements and support others to deliver to these deadlines
- Setting up document templates and final formatting -in Word and InDesign
- Liaise with the operations teams/ enabling functions to ensure that they are briefed on the details of the bid or PQQ
- Ensure bid documents are stored according to agreed document control set up, and support the bid team in finding, updating and controlling documents
- Research customers, stakeholders, opportunities and the market to inform development of strategy
- Maintain regular communication with the work winning team
- Keep abreast of proposal best practice, including sharing best practice, participating in ‘Improve Every Day’ and My Contribution initiatives

**Who we're looking for**
You will have the following:
**Essential qualities / experience**:

- An excellent standard of written English, with strong verbal communication skills
- Creativity to develop presentations, graphics and formatting for engaging documents and presentations for customer-focused communication
- Knowledge of Word and other Microsoft Office software
- Awareness of collaborative workspaces / tools e.g. Sharepoint and similar
- Attention to detail and the ability to see tasks through to completion
- A team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- A self-starter who can manage their own time and who proactively seeks and executes activities that will add value

**Desirable qualities / experience**:

- Familiarity of InDesign publishing software
