Senior Data Software Engineer Java Trading Finance

You MUST have the following:
- Good experience as a Senior Data Engineer/Lead Data Engineer
- Good ability around architecture and design
- Excellent in Java or Python
- GCP or AWS
- Spark for trade analytics
- Kafka for low-latency trading
- Agile
The following is DESIRABLE, not essential:
- Cloud strategy definition and implementation
- Experience building, modernising or improving data lakes
The role will require you to have Python or Java but ideally some of both. As the team supports both the analytics and trading fucntions, you will need to have Kafka and Spark experience.
In the first 12 months, you will work as a lead towards the further delivery of the company's cloud strategy for this data engineering area. They have already adopted AWS but aim to increase this adoption aggressively. You will also work on the project toassess and update the company's datalake. You will also be involved in rapidly raising the standard of the team, putting in place processes and creating a high-performing team. Additionally, the existing datalake needs assessing and updating.
Hybrid working is extremely flexible, as long as you are able to make it into the New York office if required.
**Salary**: £100k - £140k + 20% Bonus + Share Options + Pension
