Our client based in Basildon is looking for a **Customs Clearance Clerk** to join their growing team on a permanent basis. Previous customs experience, strong attention to detail and excellent people and communication skills are essential.

**Duties involved for the Customs Clearance Clerk role:

- **
- Creation of job files on internal computer systems.
- Customs Clearance of import and export freight at UK ports or ETSF facilities.
- Recognise client commercial invoice(s) and packing list(s) extracting data as necessary to complete import and export declarations.
- Entering details onto specialised software connecting to CHIEF/CDS
- Creation of all shipping documentation precisely and on time.
- Complete day to day custom clearance and entries.
- Provide support and advise customers on all international import / export requirements especially with new processes brought upon by Brexit.
- Liaising with HMRC to resolve any issues with clearances.

**Requirements for the Customs Clearance Clerk role:

- **
- Strong attention to detail & accuracy
- Ideally have knowledge of PVA or a deferment account and the purpose of either. Must also have the ability to source the information from the system.
- Knowledge of different routings (Route 6, Route 1, 2 or 3)

The working hours are 8.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday.
